Load Test of Overhead Hoisting System

Load Test of Overhead Hoisting System : Load test of overhead hoisting systems and lever hoists, per OSHA 1910.179, ASME B30.2, B30.11 and B30.16 standards. NIS’ overhead hoist testing procedure goes as follows:

  1. Physical characteristics, such as serial number, capacity, type and manufacturer of crane/hoist are recorded on an inspection report.
  2. The center of the hoisting system is located.
  3. The hoisting system is load tested to 125% of its safe working load limit, as per the certification criteria from OSHA and ASME.
  4. Each hoisting system that passes will be tagged with a color coded inspection tag, demonstrating that it has been checked.
  5. Hoisting systems which do not pass inspection will be tagged with a caution tag.
  6. Lastly, a computer generated report will be provided on a spreadsheet with a certificate governing regulatory standards for all passing items.
